Plart - Privacy Policy

Plart (“Plart”, “we”, “us”, or “our”) is an app that helps you transform plant photos and other images using AI-powered editing and effects. We respect your privacy and we want you to understand how we collect, use, and share your information when you use Plart.

This Privacy Policy applies to our mobile applications, websites, and any related services that link to this Privacy Policy (collectively, the “Services”). By using our Services, you agree to the practices described here. If you do not agree, please do not use the Services.

1. Who we are and how to contact us

The Services are provided by Zhejiang Guanghe Tansuo Technology Co., Ltd., a company established in the People’s Republic of China, with its registered address at:

We primarily offer our Services to users located outside Mainland China, including the United States, Canada, the United Kingdom and other European countries.

If you are located in the European Economic Area (EEA) or the United Kingdom, the data controller of your personal data is Zhejiang Guanghe Tansuo Technology Co., Ltd.. You can contact us using the email address above regarding privacy questions or requests.

2. Information we collect

We collect information in three main ways: (a) information you provide directly, (b) information we automatically collect when you use the Services, and (c) information we receive from third parties.

2.1 Information you provide directly

When you use Plart, you may provide:

  • Account information: Name or nickname, Email address, Username / display name, Password or authentication token (if you sign up with email and password).
  • Profile information: Profile photo or avatar, Short bio, preferred language, or other optional details you choose to share.
  • Photos and other content: Images and other content you upload to the app (for example, photos of plants, interiors, or other objects), Any prompts, text, settings, or parameters you provide when using AI editing or generation features.
  • Payment and subscription information: If you purchase a subscription or other paid features, the transaction is generally processed by Apple (App Store) or other payment processors. Plart does not store your full payment card details. We may receive limited information from these providers, such as: Transaction ID, Subscription status (active / canceled / renewal date), Product type you purchased.
  • Communication and support: If you contact us (for example by email or in-app support, if available), we collect: Your contact details, The content of your message and any attachments, Support and troubleshooting history.

We do not access your device’s contacts, SMS, or similar personal data unless we clearly ask for permission and you choose to grant it.

2.2 Images, visual content, and AI processing

Plart is built around image processing. When you upload or create content, we may collect:

  • Uploaded images and generated images: Photos, including plant photos and any other images you choose to upload; Generated or edited images created through our AI models or editing tools.
  • Image metadata (if present): Some images may include metadata such as date, time, and location where the photo was taken. We may use this metadata to help operate the Services (for example, to sort or organize your content).

How we process your images

Your images and prompts may be processed by our servers in Singapore and/or by trusted third-party AI providers in order to generate the requested effects or outputs.

By default, we use your images and prompts only to provide the Services you request (for example, to generate or improve a specific image for you), to maintain the security and reliability of the Services, and to comply with legal obligations.

If we want to use your content to train or improve our models beyond what is necessary to provide the Services, we will do so only where permitted by law and, when required, with your consent or a clear in-app setting.

Important: Please avoid uploading images that contain highly sensitive personal data (such as passports, medical records, or financial documents). We do not use Apple’s TrueDepth API or similar face-mapping technologies, and we do not perform biometric identification of users.

2.3 Information we automatically collect

When you access or use Plart, we automatically collect certain technical information, such as:

  • Log information: IP address, Device type, operating system, and app version, Language settings and time zone, Dates and times of access, Pages or screens viewed, features used, and actions you take in the app.
  • Device and usage information: Device identifiers (for example, an advertising ID or device ID, where permitted), Crash data and performance data to help us identify and fix issues, In-app events (for example, when you start a generation, save an image, or start a trial).
  • Cookies and similar technologies (on our websites): On our websites, we may use cookies, web beacons, and similar technologies to: Remember your preferences, Keep you signed in, Measure how the website is used and improve it. You can usually configure your browser to refuse or limit cookies, but some features may not work properly without them.

2.4 Information from third parties

We may receive information from:

  • Sign-in providers: At the time this Privacy Policy was last updated, Plart only supports registration and sign-in with an email address and password. We do not currently support sign-in with Apple, Google, Facebook, or other third-party login providers, and we do not receive your information from those providers. In the future, if we add third-party sign-in options (for example, “Sign in with Apple” or “Sign in with Google”), we may receive information such as your name, email address, and profile photo from those providers, and we will update this Privacy Policy and any required disclosures before or when that functionality becomes available.
  • Analytics and crash reporting services (now or in the future): At the time this policy was last updated, we do not actively use third-party SDKs such as Firebase or Umeng for analytics. In the future, we may integrate trusted analytics or crash-reporting services (for example, Firebase Analytics, Google Analytics for Firebase, or similar tools) to help us understand how users interact with Plart and to improve stability and performance. If we do so, we will ensure such providers process data in compliance with applicable law, and we will update this Privacy Policy and our SDK disclosures in the app store listings where required.
  • Other users: Other users may share content that includes information about you (for example, if they upload a photo that includes your image or share a screenshot that includes your username).

3. How we use your information

We use the information we collect for the following purposes:

3.1 To provide and maintain the Services

  • Create and manage your account
  • Authenticate you when you log in
  • Process your uploads, prompts, and edits to generate images or effects
  • Save your edit history or generation history (where this feature is available)
  • Provide customer support and respond to your requests

3.2 To improve and develop Plart

  • Analyze how the app is used so we can improve features, performance, and user experience
  • Develop new AI models, filters, and tools related to plant photography and other images
  • Test, troubleshoot, and fix bugs and technical issues

3.3 To communicate with you

  • Send you service-related messages, such as account notices, subscription updates, security alerts, or changes to our terms and policies
  • Send you optional marketing or promotional communications (where permitted by law). You can opt out of marketing emails at any time by following the “unsubscribe” instructions in those emails.

3.4 To keep the Services safe and secure

  • Detect, prevent, and respond to fraud, misuse, security incidents, and other harmful activities
  • Enforce our Terms of Use and other policies

3.5 To comply with law

  • Respond to legal requests and comply with applicable laws and regulations
  • Protect our rights, property, and safety, and the rights, property, and safety of our users and others

3.6 Legal bases for processing (EEA/UK users)

If you are in the European Economic Area (EEA) or the United Kingdom, we process your personal data on one or more of the following legal bases:

4. How we share your information

We do not sell your personal information. We may share information in the following situations:

4.1 Service providers

We work with trusted third-party companies to help us operate and improve Plart, such as:

  • Cloud hosting providers (for example, servers located in Singapore)
  • AI model providers and infrastructure providers
  • Analytics, crash reporting, and performance monitoring services (if implemented in the future)
  • Email delivery and communication tools
  • Customer support tools
  • Payment and subscription processing services (for example, Apple in-app purchases)

These providers may only use your information as needed to perform services on our behalf and must protect it in a manner consistent with this Privacy Policy.

4.2 Analytics and measurement

We may share pseudonymous or aggregated usage information with analytics providers so we can understand how Plart is used, identify trends, and improve our features and performance. At the time of this policy’s last update, we do not actively use Firebase or Umeng, but we may add such tools in the future as described above.

4.3 Legal requirements and protection

We may access, preserve, and disclose information if we believe it is reasonably necessary to:

  • Comply with applicable laws, regulations, legal processes, or governmental requests
  • Protect the safety, rights, or property of Plart, our users, or others
  • Detect, prevent, or address fraud, abuse, security issues, or other harmful activities

4.4 Business transfers

If we are involved in a merger, acquisition, sale of assets, restructuring, or similar transaction, your information may be transferred as part of that transaction. We will take steps to ensure your rights and privacy continue to be protected.

5. Cookies and similar technologies

On our websites, we may use cookies and similar technologies to: Remember your preferences (such as language), Keep you signed in, Analyze traffic and usage, Improve and personalize the website.

You can typically disable cookies in your browser settings. If you do so, some features of the website may not function properly.

6. Advertising and tracking

Plart does not currently display third-party advertisements in the app and does not use your personal information for cross-app or cross-site targeted advertising (also known as interest-based or behavioral advertising).

We do not sell your personal information as “sale” is defined under many privacy laws.

If our advertising or tracking practices change in the future, we will update this Privacy Policy and, where required, obtain your consent or provide appropriate opt-out mechanisms.

7. Your choices and rights

7.1 App and device settings

On your device, you can:

  • Manage camera, photo library, microphone, notification, and other permissions for Plart in your device settings.
  • Limit ad tracking or reset your advertising identifier (where available on your device).

7.2 Managing your account

Within the app (where available), you may:

  • Update your profile information
  • Change notification and email preferences
  • Log out or uninstall the app

If you wish to delete your account or request deletion of your personal data, you can: Use the in-app deletion function (if available), or Contact us at ethanparkergo@gmail.com from the email address associated with your account, and clearly state that you want to delete your account or data.

We may ask you to verify your identity before processing your request.

7.3 Email communications

You can opt out of marketing emails by using the “unsubscribe” link included in those emails. We may still send you non-marketing messages, such as important service or account notices.

7.4 Rights under certain privacy laws

Depending on where you live, you may have additional rights regarding your personal information, including the right to:

  • Access the personal information we hold about you
  • Request correction of inaccurate information
  • Request deletion of your information
  • Object to or restrict certain processing
  • Receive a copy of your data in a portable format

Additional rights for certain U.S. state residents

If you are a resident of California or certain other U.S. states with specific privacy laws, you may have additional rights (for example, the right to know, correct, or delete certain personal information, and the right to opt out of certain uses of personal information).

Plart does not sell your personal information or use it for cross-context behavioral advertising as those terms are defined under California law.

8. Children’s privacy

Plart is not intended for children under 13 and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13.

If we learn that we have collected personal information from a child under 13, we will take reasonable steps to delete it and, if applicable, delete the account.

If your local law requires a higher minimum age, you must be at least that age to use Plart.

9. International data transfers

We operate globally and may store and process your information in Singapore and in other countries where we or our service providers operate. These countries may have data protection laws that are different from those in your country of residence.

Where required by law, we take appropriate measures to protect your personal information when it is transferred internationally, such as using standard contractual clauses approved by the European Commission or other lawful transfer mechanisms.

10. Data security

We use reasonable technical and organizational measures designed to protect your personal information from unauthorized access, loss, misuse, alteration, or destruction. However, no method of transmission or storage is completely secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.

You are responsible for keeping your account credentials confidential and for any activity that occurs under your account.

11. Data retention

We keep your personal information for as long as necessary to: Provide the Services, Fulfill the purposes described in this Privacy Policy, Comply with our legal obligations, Resolve disputes and enforce our agreements.

When we no longer need your personal information for these purposes, we will delete it or take steps to anonymize it, unless we are required by law to keep it longer.

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. Your continued use of Plart after the updated Privacy Policy becomes effective means that you accept the changes.
